PARAFEST 2016 – An event not to be missed

Parafest is the UK’s only trade exhibition for paragliding and paramotor aviation.
Manufacturers, dealers and schools will be attending with their full range for display and demo.
You can meet the experts and ask your questions to the people who know the answers.

Based in North Wales for its country central location, its close proximity to some great paragliding sites and with a field reserved for paramotor flying pilots will enjoy breathtaking views along the North Wales coast into Snowdonia National Park and beyond.
Whether you’re a seasoned pilot, a new pilot or a wannabee pilot Parafest has it all in one great location, close to the coast and surrounded by the natural beauty of North Wales.

Hang glider pilots, powered or unpowered, this is also for you. It’s all foot launched flying fun.

Parfaits field is just a 5 minute flight from the coast. With its smooth sea breeze and big sandy beaches the coastline is a paramotor pilot’s paradise.
You can follow the coastline from Talacre beach with its deserted lighthouse, past the holiday towns of Prestatyn, Rhyl and Abergele all the way to Llandudno and its pier.
Fly over the Great Orme and give a wave to the skiers and toboggan riders on the dry slope or you can fly inland to the summit of Snowdon, less than 30 miles away as the paramotor flies. From the coast to the flatlands or into the mountains, Parafest has it all.

You will need a ticket to enter, to purchase tickets and for more information follow the link to the organisers website: http://www.parafest.co.uk

Bailey Hornet 2 Stroke Twin Cylinder Paramotor Engine

Since the beginning of the year Bailey Aviation have been designing and developing a new PPG 2 stroke engine, known as the Hornet. The Hornet has been designed due to many customer requests for an ‘Ultimate’ 2 stroke engine that is powerful, lightweight and reliable.

The engine is a twin cylinder design that is very compact and lightweight. It will fit in the ‘higher power’ end of the market and be primarily aimed at slalom competition flying.

Utilising a helical gear reduction system, centrifugal clutch and manual pull start arrangement, power output is around 28-30hp (TBC) and all up weight is around 15.5kg.

They will be officially launching this new engine at the Coupe-Icare exhibition in St Hilaire in France from 19th-22nd September. Why not come and see it for yourself – for details of the Coupe-Icare exhibition, please visit their official website here:- www.coupe-icare.org/GB_home.html

Specification and prices for the Hornet will be relesed over the coming weeks, so please make sure to re-visit their web site for the latest updates. http://www.baileyaviation.com

Bailey Aviation fits Plastic tanks to their Paramotors after 12 years of Aluminium Fuel Tanks

more pictures

After 12 years of producing machines with anodised aluminium fuel tanks we have finally bowed to commercial pressure and changed to a plastic tank.

The Aluminium tanks though very beautiful (and somewhat of a Bailey Trademark) were becoming too time consuming and expensive to produce.

Changing to plastic does have it advantages though, it is slightly lighter, easier to produce in complex 3D shapes and is of course translucent so fuel level can easily be seen.

In Bailey tradition it is of course quick release and comes complete with a shoulder strap for those long walks to find fuel on bivouac trips.

For the competition minded it is also mounted higher on the paramotor chassis and provides a clear airflow path under the seat and into the prop arc.
Overal CofG is also higher, giving a lighter feel to the machine.

Capacity is slightly larger than the standard aluminium tank at 11.5 litres. This new plastic tank replaces the 10L and 15L options.
